Episode 1: The Whiners

Todays episode is all about our resident whiners. Who they are and of course, what wine they drink.

Welcome to Whine&Wine! Phew, what a time it as been getting this all together. I'm Bailey and I had this glorious idea months ago to do a podcast about drinking wine and chatting with my best friends. At first, it was a dream since I didn't have the time and both of my friends were also busy. I started my Master's degree this August and we were given an assignment to start a brand. Of course I chose to pursue this project! It's been eating at my brain for months, like, how could I not? Anyways, creating the website and social media platforms have been a breeze, but finding a day to record was the hardest part. Do you know how hard it is to get three adults in one room? Really fucking hard (If you don't like cussing leave while you can teehee).

Basically, the point of this blog is to introduce the episode and give a sense of what we will be talking about, plus some rambling from yours truly. Our goal is to provide a safe space for anyone to listen to while life gets hard. We're all friends here right?

This first episode was a shit show to set up (not in the bad way, I promise). We plopped ourselves at Kalyns dining room table, since I don't have a studio yet, and I set up the technical things while Kalyn and Em set up the wine. Em and Kalyn decided to start drinking earlier than me since I was still setting up. By the time we started recording they had a slight buzz, which made it all the more fun to record.

Introducing ourselves comes first, since you don't know us that well. We're all trying to be friends here. About 20 minutes in is when Kalyn finally introduces herself. Getting off topic is our specialty.

We also talked about how covid has affected us in college and our post college lives. I personally feel as though 22-23 was ripped out from under me. I didn't get a chance to spend some of the most formative going out years having any fun.

New York! What a trip! An amazing trip! Going to see My Chemical Romance was probably the highlight of my life. They were right in front of me and I just kept thinking, "holy shit, they're real".

"Four glasses of wine" - Em

Keeping tabs on how many glasses of wine may be our brand. We recorded three episodes, so we will continue to get more drunk as the shows go on I suppose. Em kept keeping track of how much wine we ingested.

I sincerely hope you continue to listen to our chaotic selves. The episode content just keeps getting better and better as we get drunker and drunker.
